This section is aimed at supporting people who may be interested in joining a board but whose life or work experience has not yet made this an obvious option.

You do not necessarily need mainstream educational achievements or management experience to join a board. Understanding the contribution you can make through your behaviours, your personal influence, your networks and your ability to challenge, support and bring another perspective are vitally important.

Or you may be an experienced professional who has decided that joining a board is the next step, and just need some help with framing your experience.
